The Innovation Coordinator provides temporary, part-time support to the Senior Director of Innovation during a key build phase of Summit 3.0. The role keeps the pilot portfolio organized and moving: closing out SY26 pilot documentation, standing up the planning and tracking systems for SY27, and supporting redesign planning at Summit Prep / 780 and Summit Sierra. It also helps refine and codify Summit’s innovation cycle and pilot playbook.
This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes role for a strong project manager and writer who can turn complex, fast-moving work into clear systems, plans, and documents.

Close out SY26 pilot documentation
Compile and organize final documentation for SY26 pilots across sites.
Draft end-of-cycle learning memos summarizing results, user experience, and recommended decisions.
Build a clean, searchable archive of pilot artifacts, data, and findings.
Build the SY27 pilot systems
Develop scheduling overviews, pilot charters, timelines, and milestone trackers for SY27 pilots.
Create substantive testing-cycle plans that tie each pilot to clear hypotheses and measures.
Maintain shared trackers and calendars for pilot events, deliverables, and decision points.
Support school redesign planning
Support planning for the redesign work at Summit Prep / 780 and Summit Sierra for the coming year.
Organize planning documents, timelines, and working materials for the focal schools.
Track action items and follow-ups so redesign planning stays on schedule.
Refine and codify the innovation playbook
Refine Summit’s innovation cycle documentation and templates.
Help draft the innovation playbook, capturing standard practices, tools, and procedures.
Turn working practices into reusable assets the team can apply across pilots.
Key qualities and skills
Strong project and program management skills; you keep multiple workstreams organized and on track.
Clear, efficient writer who can produce sharp plans, briefs, memos, and documentation.
Highly organized and detail-oriented; you build systems that others can follow.
Comfortable with ambiguity and fast-moving work; you move quickly and adjust without drama.
Belief in Summit’s mission and interest in evolving public schools for a future-ready world.
Field-grounded; you understand how schools actually work.
Required experience and qualifications
3+ years in education, program or project management, instructional design, or a related field.
Demonstrated success managing complex projects, documentation, or systems.
Strong writing and organizational skills; comfort building plans, trackers, and reference materials.
Proficiency with Google Workspace and common project-management tools.
Clear background check.

Our compensation policy strives to be equitable and transparent. The salary for this position starts at $45.35 and goes up to $53.58 hourly commensurate with experience and qualifications as well as location.
